Add all ingredients to a short Collins glass with a large ice cube. Stir well, and garnish with a candied grape. Optional presentation: Serve up in a martini glass.
*Toasted Rye Syrup
Toast rye in a saucepan until fragrant (not burnt). Add sugar and water and bring to a boil. Let simmer for 15 min. then strain into a sealed container. Store in the refrigerator for up to one week.
Place all ingredients in a sealed container and let rest for 2-3 days at room temperature, occasionally shaking to mix.
